Cut,Sexy,Or Stylish-Which Is Your Halloween Costumes Style?

Posted on: October 25, 2011

It's so much fun to be a woman on Halloween - so many fantasies to indulge by dressing up as your favorite character. You can be sexy, sweet, intriguing or mean -- whatever you choose, by going online to find a costume that fits how you picture yourself.Take a look at halloween costumes for women.

1.Childhood Throwback — Angelica from Rugrats

Angelica may have just been the originator of the multiple bright colors trend. Get her look by wearing a long-sleeve orange top under a purple dress. Add some bright blue tights, orange socks and simple purple flats. Finally, put your hair in pigtails and use some ribbon to add some adorable bows.

2.Barbie

If you're a girl born in America, chances are that you grew up with at least a few Barbie dolls lying around your house. And even if you aren't blond, dressing up as Barbie is an easy costume that everyone will love. There are a lot of ways to play around with this idea (think Career Barbie, Beach Barbie, etc.) but the easiest way is just to pile on all things pink!

If you're a go-big-or-go-home type of girl, add a blond wig or recruit one of your guy friends (or boyfriend) to be your Ken! If you're going out with your girlfriends, you can each be a different Barbie personality – and you'll be sure to turn heads at any party you go to.For Moncler Women's Melina Khaki Down Coats.

3.The Fashion Icon — Edie Sedgwick

Show how much you like fashion by dressing up as a stylish icon from the past. For this look I chose '60s fashion icon Edie Sedgwick, but you can pick your favorite icon or decade to channel. An awesome perk to dressing like Edie or any other icon is that you can easily incorporate all of the pieces from this look into your everyday wardrobe.

Achieve Edie's mod style with a long-sleeve striped dress, opaque tights and over-the-knee boots. Play up the look with some bold jewelry like an oversized cocktail ring and shoulder-dusting earrings. Finish this costume by recreating the edgy eye makeup look that Edie was famous for.

4.Shooting Star

This Christian Dior look, from the Fall 2011 runway is both bold and beautiful. Its sequined top, paired with its ruffled bottom creates the perfect over-the-top dress. My favorite part of the look, however, is the shooting star headpiece. This look is great inspiration for a shooting star costume.

Start this look with a silver sequin dress. To go with the shooting star theme, accessorize with a bold star necklace and shooting star earrings. Continue to incorporate stars with star printed tights and black pumps with silver stars. To finish off the look, add a simple star hair clip. You could also try DIYing a star headpiece to get the look you wish. For Moncler Women's Loire Down Coats Black.

5.Birds of a Feather

This On Aura Tout Vu Spring 2010 couture look is incredibly detailed and dramatic. While this look may not work for class, it is perfect inspiration for a stylish, glamorous bird-themed Halloween costume.

In the spirit of Halloween, I chose to create a Black Swan-inspired version of On Aura Tout Vu's look. The key to this look is lots and lots (and lots) of feathers. I started with this feather bottomed dress and added feathers on top with a feather capelet. I then added feather booties, a simple feather headband and a bird mask. If you want a bolder look, opt for a feathered headpiece like this one. If you want to opt out of the mask, try this Black Swan-inspired makeup tutorial.

6.Reality TV "Star" — Snooki from Jersey Shore

Dressing up like Snooki may be one of the more popular costumes this year, but it's a fun one nonetheless. Really get into character with this costume: fist pump, carry some pickles and be on the lookout for ‘guido juiceheads'.

For this look, all you need is a short party dress, (if you already own one, use it!) sky-high heels and glitzy jewelry. If you add lots of bronzer, (or slather on the fake tanner – the more orangey, the better!), put your hair in a poof, and brush up on your Snooki lingo you'll be good to go. Bonus points if you can talk some friends into going as Pauly D, The Situation and the rest of the crew.

7.Movie Inspiration — Lydia from Beetlejuice

I'm a huge fan of '80s movies and Beetlejuice has always been one of my favorites. Like other Tim Burton films, Beetlejuice has just the right amount of quirk, spookiness and dark humor. If you're looking for a costume that fits those traits, look no further than the character Lydia and her unique style.

Lydia is all about dark colors, so for this costume you'll need a simple black dress. Amp up the gothic style with some lace gloves and Victorian-era boots. Add some quirky touches with spider earrings and cobweb-patterned tights. Finally, tease your hair and add lots of product to give it that messy, yet sculpted look Lydia rocks.

8.Mother Nature

This crochet and fringe look from Gaultier's Spring 2010 couture collection has a lush, earthy feel. The tree-like hat combines with the model's bohemian braids to create a look that screams mother nature.

To create a Mother Nature costume, start with a green maxi skirt. Pair it with an earthy top like this colorful tank. Next, keep your accessories Earth-themed – a green leafy scarf, wooden necklace and leaf bangle are perfect examples. Finish the look off with natural sandals and top it all off with a flower headpiece. If you want to make your costume even more earthy, carry around fake flowers or stick leaves in your hair. This costume is super easy to make, and the best part? You can find pieces in your own backyard (literally). For Mammut Womens jackets.

9.Sassy Sailor

Gaultier created a classic yet sassy sailor look in his Fall 2009 couture collection. The high-waisted pants pair perfectly with the striped sweater to create a simple yet statement-making outfit. The nautical hat is my favorite part and really creates the "Hello, Sailor" vibe.

To get your sailor costume going, start with a red striped shirt and pair it with high-waisted sailor pants. Accessorize with nautical accessories like an anchor necklace, knotted earrings, a nautical broach and a sailor striped bag. Top it off with a sailor hat and don't forget the Sperry wedges!

If you want to put a fun twist on the classic sailor costume, try it from a vintage angle, incorporating pinup girl hair and makeup. Check out this tutorial for a '50s sailor makeup look.

10.Ringmaster

This Christian Dior look from the 2010 couture collection is perfect inspiration for a fierce costume. The red blazer, black gloves and top hat with black veil practically scream "Ringmaster!" However, in this case, we aren't talking sexy Britney Spears-esque ringmaster (although you could go that route, too) but rather a classic vintage ringmaster look, a la Water for Elephants.

To get this classic ringmaster look, start with a ruffled white shirt and pair it with a bright red cropped blazer. Next, add a grey plaid skirt and black booties. Accessorize with a pair of black leather gloves, a mini top hat and veil headband. And don't forget a cane accessory so you can keep the circus tame! Finish off with a bold red lip.
